Class Rules and Show Information

  Gates open at 7:30AM | Show starts at 9:00AM

  AQHA and USEF rules apply, as appropriate

  Youth classes are for riders 18 years old & younger

  Beginner = Exhibitors in their 1st or 2nd year of showing in that particular division

  Green Horse – Horses in the 1st or 2nd year of showing

  Exhibitors in Gaited/Walking/Racking classes may NOT cross-enter into Western Pleasure or Hunter Pleasure classes

  Exhibitors in Ranch classes may NOT cross-enter into Western Pleasure or Hunter Pleasure classes

  Jackpot Classes are open to all exhibitors (Adult, Youth, and Beginner)

  Leadline is for riders 10 years-old and younger

  Jackpot classes must have 3 entries to pay out

  Jackpot payout: 1st = 15%, 2nd = 10%, 3rd = 5% of combined entry fees

  Horsemanship and Equitation classes consist of a pattern and rail work

  Gaited Classes – Western or English tack is acceptable

  GAYP – “Go As You Please” – Must exhibit a gait other than a walk

  Classes are walk/trot-jog/canter-lope unless noted

  Upon arrival, a NEGATIVE Coggins report dated within the last 12 months MUST be presented

  Dress Code: Appropriate  clothing based on the class is expected. No tank tops

  Tack: Appropriate tack based on the class is required – “BRIDLELESS” showing is NOT permitted

  Only sound horses will be judged

  The judge’s discretion is final

  No alcohol on the premises

Show Fees

$6 per Class Pre-registered | $7 per Class Day-of-Show| $10 per Jackpot Class | $15 Membership

Year-End Awards

Overall series Champion and Reserve Champion prizes will be awarded to exhibitors who accumulate the highest

point totals from all shows combined. Exhibitors are eligible to accumulate points for a membership fee per

exhibitor, per year. Membership fees must be paid by the May show.

Points will be awarded as follows:

1st Place = 6 Points | 2nd Place = 5 Points | 3rd Place = 4 Points | 4th Place = 3 Points | 5th Place = 2 Points | 6th Place = 1 Point

o Beginner Showmanship – Class 4

o Adult Showmanship – Class 6

o Youth Showmanship – Class 5

o Beginner Western – Classes 9, 17

o Youth Western – Classes 11, 13, 19

o Adult Western – Classes 10, 12, 19

o Beginner Hunter – Classes 29, 37

o Adult Hunter – Classes 30, 32, 38

o Youth Hunter – Classes 31, 33, 39

o Adult Gaited – Classes 23, 26

o Youth Gaited – Classes 24, 27

o Adult Ranch – Classes 41, 44

o Youth Ranch – Classes 40, 43

o Adult Speed – Classes 48, 51, 54

o Youth Speed – Classes 47, 50, 53

  To qualify for a awards, an exhibitor must show in a division in at least 2 River City Horse Shows and

accumulate a minimum of 10 points for the showmanship Divisions and 20 points for the riding Divisions

  Champion and Reserve Champion prizes will be presented at the last show of the series
